First off I want to tell you that my respect for you as an inspector is off the charts. After just a phone conversation or two and then two days of virtual classes, it was overwhelmingly evident that you KNOW your business and you are GOOD at it – the best of the best! You’re the Tom Brady of inspections…there may be some that are really good, but you are arguably the best this industry has ever seen. The evidence is clear from the respect shown from the mentors, your coworkers, the guests, and industry leaders that you are that good. You’ve obviously worked hard to achieve your high perch in this industry and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to learn from you, thank you!
I look forward to knowing you better, learning & absorbing what you have to teach and being able to proudly call you friend.
This is what I said to my wife this last night…
“So, a guy (me) is in this industry for 35+ years and thinks he knows A LOT about all aspects of the industry (Certainly not everything, but a lot). So he decides to take his incredible knowledge to a different arena within that industry. Then, when he gets there, to easily impress with all this vast knowledge, he discovers he doesn’t know diddly-squat about what he’s diving into!”
I was taken down a few notches…I needed that!!
So I need to say THANK YOU, for humbling me and forcing me to realize that I was never the guru I thought I was…I actually know WAY less about this industry than I did 10 years ago. THANK YOU for making me realize I shouldn’t have thought of myself so highly. THANK YOU for giving me an opportunity to learn and to move from an evolved mundane existence in an industry that used to be so fun & exciting to learn about. Thank you for the new excitement in learning a completely new aspect of that industry I thought I knew completely. THANK YOU for creating this boost I need to light a new fire in the dying embers of my dulled career.
